Black/White
St. Mary the Virgin Cilcain. Details with the contrast between the white of the lamp mantle and the black of he lock hasp.
Hard/Soft
Monochrom pictures contrasting the hard ruins of Castell Dinas Bran with the softness of the peony flower. Picture with hard and soft. Coloured of Dinas Bran contrasting the hard ruins with the soft vegetation around.
Diagonal/Rounded
Rock studies on Eigg. Two pictures from a day spent on the one beach with an extraordinary range of rock types and formations.
Curved/Straight
Llandudno. The soft curves of the West Beach contrasted with the straight lines of the pier
Many/Few
Parys Mountain, The first with the jumble of rocks with a variety of colours from the staining with Iron and Copper contrasting with the close up of a nearly black rock with the quartz intrusion and a suggestion of the iron oxide staining.
Large/Small
Porth Wen. A ruined brick works with the contrast between the massive remains of the boilers and the detail of a small pulley.
Broad/Narrow
Porth Wen. One of the large surviving ruins viewed through an opening in one of the old brick kilns.
Rough/Smooth
Bread and wine a rough loaf and a smooth bottle with a smooth wine! Taken with available light in the kitchen.
